Two Month Check up
Today, we saw Dr.Cox for her two month check up. At this appointment she weighed 9 lbs 3 oz and 22 inches long! He said she is doing so well, gaining weight and looking healthy. Addy had to get two shots and one that was liquid in her mouth. Only cried for a few seconds, stopped when daddy picked her up! Every one at my work loved seeing her, they love to pass her around. Addy is now making eye contact with us, and turning her head to familar voices, and more cooing. She also is starting to grab things, like mommys hair and shirts. Addyson is becoming such a big girl!

Party/Date
Today, Michael, Addy and I went to Laela's 1st birthday party at her house. This was Addys first party that she has been too. She pretty much slept the whole time. Except when all the kids were running around all crazy! But while she was there she met another baby who is I think nine days older than her, and they went on there first " date", and his name is Judah. They didnt even know each other existed, they were even laying next to each other on the floor. Here are some pictures from the party of us:

Photo Shoot # 1
Thanks to our friend Melinda, Addy had her first photo shoot! We went to a trail out by her house, and we just let her do her thing. It was the perfect weather, not to hot and not to cold. Which was perfect because I wanted to do Addy's picture with clothes and with just a diaper on. Addy did awesome, did not cry or anything. Since it was friday, we had big sister Rylee with us. We definetly wanted to get some pictures of her and then some with Addy.

Delivery Time: Our Miracle
Around 8:00 a.m Sunday ( July 19, 2009), Dr. Walker came in to check me and at that time I was now 4 centimeters. My contractions were definitely getting closer together, and the pain was getting pretty intense. If you know me, I do not have a high tolerance for pain. The doctor wanted to give me Pitocin. At that point I wanted the epidural, that was not bad at all. As long as I didnt see a thing, I knew it would be a piece of cake. Now I could rest and before I knew it, I was ready to push. I did not have to push more than I would say thirty minutes, and Addyson Marie Kohan was born at 12:25 p.m weighing 4 pounds 14 ounces and 17 inches long!

Getting to hold my baby for the first time :)
Even though she was premature being born at 34 weeks gestation, she was very healthy. She was born with alot of bruising all over face, they did not know exactly how that happened and jaundice. Addyson did not need help breathing, she was able to breath on her own from birth. Such a strong little girl!
Addy had to be in the NICU for five days. Before she could go home she had to be able to eat on her own, atleast 45 cc. Also, her jaundice level had to be down. Those two things were fine and she was able to leave the hospital on Thursday July 23.

Getting to hold our baby girl during our visiting times to the NICU. We could visit her whenever we wanted, but we could not hold her or feed her except at her feedings times.

Back Labor Pain?
Ouch! All day Saturday, which was July 18, 2009. I was having a really bad pain on the left side of my back. From reading " What to Expect When your Expecting" my symptoms seemed to have been similar to the ones they had to described as the baby being on your sciatic nerve. I tried everything possible they had listed to helped ease the pain, like heating pad, warm bath, and even tried the swimming pool! Nothing worked.
Finally, I decided enough is enough. I needed to seek doctors advice. Since it was Saturday, I had to call the Doctor on call, to make sure if what I had come up with was true. Dr. Walker, was the doctor on call. Had told me that what I was describing was probably the baby being on my sciatic nerve, and told me to do basically what I was doing. Michael was such a help during all of this. He was doing everything that I had asked him to do, since the pain was enough to keep me in bed. He brought me lunch and even dinner in bed!
At 4:05 a.m, and that is exact just ask Michael. I woke him up saying " Michael, I think my water broke!?" Waking him up from his deep sleep, he jump up and said " What!". I was not sure exactly what had happened, but I do know this time at my normal potty time my mucous plug had came out. I do know that definetly happened, but I did realize there was a little bit of fluid that had came out as well. So I thought the smart thing to do was to call the doctor again. Dr. Walker had called me back some time after 4:20 a.m, and that seemed like the longest ten minutes. I described to him that my mucous plug had came out, and he had asked if my water had broken too. From what I had experienced I thought it had, and he insisted that I went to the hospital to get checked. My response to him was " Right now" and he said " Yes, Right now". lol I was just so shocked.
It was about 4:30 a.m when we left, I had gotten together a few things to bring. I had not yet put together my hospital bag, at this time I was only 34 weeks. We arrived at the hospital, and the little old lady at the hospital reception had told us to go to the Labor and Delivery Room 7. There I was given the not so attractive hospital gown, had to sit in the bed and was asked a ton of questions. The nurse had to get a swab sample, and get it tested for amniotic fluid. The test results came back about thirty minutes later, that it was indeed fluid. At this point I was already one centimeter dilated...
